And I would argue the war on drugs does much more harm than good, especially when you prosecute someone for possession. And has it occurred to you that prostitutes may have become addicted to drugs AFTER becoming a prostitute? I don't mean to get on your case, but I can't rightfully see charging women for a criminal act and using condoms as proof against her is somehow protecting women. If you think it is, then by all means, go on in your delusions. Prostitution has been around for millennia, and unlike murder, if both parties to the transaction go into it willingly, then there has been no societal harm that has taken place. Murder DOES harm society, in a multitude of ways, and to try and draw parallels between those two is sickening, particularly when you profess to want to protect women.
I know you're only doing your job. I get that you want to protect people. But not every law does what it's intended to do. This is one of those cases where the law just does much more harm than it does any good.
