"I know we were," Peeta said, his voice wavering slightly as he was forced to rehash painful memories. It was a daily struggle, and one that he doubted would ever stop completely, but he hoped that the more he faced it, the easier it would be. "Katniss got out. Me, Johanna and Enobaria got stuck." For lack of a better word, they'd gotten trapped. He didn't blame anyone. There was so much confusion, and it all happened so quickly. It could have easily been Katniss instead, and that would have ended everything.
He took another deep breath and steadied himself. "They tried to get information from me. About the rebellion. Katniss. Thirteen." He glanced at Portia. "And then they took over, all my memories, trying to make me think I needed to kill Katniss. Tracker jacker venom is some nasty stuff."
