WHO: Paige Turner & Demetrius Luther
WHAT: Paige is smitten
WHEN: Sunday, February 14, 2016, early afternoon
WHERE: Somewhere between Forensics and Major Cases
RATING: E for Embarrassing
STATUS: Closed//Ongoing
Paige, with her arms full of files and her eyes scanning the results of several blood tests, was on her way to the Major Cases offices to follow up on the case involving Edward Samuels. Or, rather, that was her excuse. She was actually on her way to apologize to Demetrius and Ridley for being short with them when the case first started. She was starting to feel a little alienated from those around her, and she knew it was her fault.
She couldn't take her malcontent with her situation out on everyone around her, and close study of the conversations she'd had in the last couple of weeks showed her that she had, in fact, been a right bitch to several people without cause or warrant. Just because the two investigators ran their cases in a way that contradicted how she would have done things, it did not give her the right to be bratty to them. Chances were, and Paige knew it, that neither of them cared enough to even consider her apology worth the interruption, but it would make her feel better for giving it.
A sudden nerve twinge made her nearly drop the papers she was juggling, but it was quickly forgotten, and she thought nothing further of it. Turning a corner, she spotted one of her targets. She'd never noticed how how blue his eyes were until that moment, or how she liked the contrast of his red beard against his brown hair. She took an unnecessary breath, catching his scent. If she had a pulse, it would have skipped a beat at the animal lying below the surface. She looked at her outfit, and swore mentally. She suddenly regretted her Dr. Horrible shirt and hoodie. Why hadn't she dressed nicer, or done her hair, or put on a little bit of makeup?!
She realized, belatedly, that she was simply standing in the middle of the hall, staring at Demetrius, and she made her feet move. "Um. Hi. So." She met his eyes and forgot how to speak or behave like a human. Which she wasn't. Something stirred in her, something primal, and she would have blushed if she could. "You have really pretty eyes," she blurted.
