Who: Emma Frost and Bobby Drake What: A pep talk from the former leader Where: The Xavier Mansion When: October 5
Emma had thought, prior to that morning, that there was nothing in the world that would drag her back to the Xavier mansion. Westchester was too far away to casually visit, and she had no business with them, beside her monthly charitable contributions. She was helping the mutant race her way, with meetings and bribes, trying to get the Sentinels withdrawn. The sad fact was that unless the mutants registered, they would be breaking the law, just like the resisting heroes.
That had changed when she'd heard about the new leader of the X-men. Part of her, a rather stupid part, she now recognized, had assumed that Kitty or Jean would lead, since both had done so before. Bobby hadn't even been in the world when she'd left. How he'd managed to become leader was truly beyond her. But if he was in fact the leader, he was owed a visit. Despite being an accountant, he was a fairly disorganized person. She wondered how things were going, and what in the world made them decide to put him in charge of the largest population of mutants, and the only ones who were still (theoretically), active superheroes.
It was the most bizarre choice she had ever heard of. Granted, she'd laughed when she'd heard Tony Stark was replacing Nick Fury, but that wasn't unbelievable, just hilarious.
She slid out of the car at the gate, entering her codes to get in. The Sentinels were ignored, the same way they had been every time she'd driven past them, though maybe she'd give the drivers horrible nightmares on her way out.
She parked in the roundabout in front of the door, and knocked loudly, sure that someone would come and let her in.
