WHO: Barbara Gordon/Oracle
OPEN TO: Anyone, either in person or through electronic means
WHEN: November 15, early to mid evening
WHERE: Cafe with wireless network, in the Village
WHAT: Barbara ventures back out into meatspace after way too long inside.
Much of her time as part of the network was a blur to her. Little bits of memory, some consisting entirely of snippets of code. After the nanites were disabled, it had taken her some time to truly wake up. Her body was back to how it had been before- perhaps even a little worse in some ways. It had taken a lot of rest to get over the ordeal, and without her physiotherapy regimen, her legs were starting to hint at showing signs of atrophy in the muscles.
She needed to feel normal again. Getting out amongst other human beings would be a good start. So she wheeled herself outside, and set herself up in the first inviting, cozy-looking coffee house she could find. This one was... retro, if you could call harkening back to the mid 90s retro. It still clung to the bohemian chic vibe that had made the neighbourhood famous before gentrification. There was even a woman with an acoustic guitar strumming away on the small corner stage. It didn't ignore the present entirely though, her laptop was easily connected to the Internet. It was her security blanket. She could only go so long on her own without some form of technological link to the rest of the planet.
For the moment, though, a slice of rich, dense flourless chocolate cake and some flavoured coffee drink with more calories than her last meal were the center of her world.
