So I think I'm going to see if I can take a few classes over the summer. I also need to find a job, I think.

It's nice to actually have a plan.

I still don't know. I guess I'll probably just get like a retail job while I figure out what I'm going to do.

Yeah. Something just to help pay for classes and everything. Or at least books. I've also been working on practically every application possible for colleges. But I came in a little late to really be able to finish senior year.

It's kind of hard to be serious about making long term plans here. Though I guess here is probably better than space was since this is the first place we ever came back to after leaving.

I guess so, but my long term plan is pretty much the same anywhere I am. I just want to be an architect, to make something that lasts.

I wish I knew what I wanted to do. Though I guess if I'm going to live for centuries I've got time to change my mind a few times.

I just kind of knew ever since I was younger. Well, probably after I got to Camp Half-blood. Before then, I was just trying to survive with Luke and Thalia, but I always liked architecture. You're going to live for centuries?

Probably. My mom's like nine hundred and something and she's just starting to get old. Most of the stories about kitsune say they live about a thousand years.

That's a pretty long time. It's rare that we make it past early twenties most of the time. A lot of us die as kids. But I'd be okay with growing up and getting old. A thousand years would give you a lot of time to find things you like to do, however.

It's still pretty abstract. It kind of seems like the world isn't going to last that long anyway Which is probably good because it seems like it would be too easy to think that people don't matter that much otherwise.

Yeah. I get that. The gods offered to make my boyfriend into a god and he turned them down. It's hard to think that you might stay the same person if you lived forever. I mean [...] we ran into Hercules and he was [...] well, he wasn't anything like the person you hear about in the stories.

What sort of job are you looking for?

Well, I'm not sure anyone but the gods is willing to let me do architecture without going to school for it, so basically something that helps me get through school. I'd prefer something more mentally stimulating than stocking shelves, but I guess beggars can't be choosers.

Unfortunately you're probably correct about that and I'm uncertain the military who does know of your skills has anything available that meets your needs. I believe I've read that the library has some openings for shelving books and the Dust Bowl museum is also looking for tour guides. Not quite architecture, though it may give you an opportunity to learn more about the various methods used here.

Probably not. I'll look into both places. Thank you for the information. At least there's always summer classes. It will at least give me something to do.

Don't forget that colleges seem to look more for a well-rounded student these days. Focus on your studies but I suggest looking into volunteer opportunities and organizations that fit your interests.

I won't forget. I've been stressing about colleges since I realized I could actually go to one. Though, I was supposed to be going to one in New Rome. It's different here.

There seems to be quite a few who are embracing the chance to do something they've wanted here. New Rome?

Oh. It's at the Roman camp. Camp Jupiter. The demigods and legacies go to school there. It's safe from monsters...since demigods seem to attract monsters.

What is the difference between a demigod and a legacy?

Demigods are usually first generation. They have a god or goddess as a parent. My mother is Athena.

There's a lot when it comes to our stories. We've been through a lot together. At least our group. But Percy and I have been thrown together from the beginning. There's a lot to remember about Greek history when it comes to our godly parents.
