RAVEN CYCLE

So I'm not ready to be the first one to jump through the portal or anything, but I've been here a long time and there's shit going down at home.

If we're gonna have the opportunity to choose to leave at some point, I think I want to, but I'm not leaving any of you behind. If you wanna stick around longer cause you haven't been here as long, I'll stay longer

OTHER FRIENDS
None of you are allowed to jump through the portal without saying goodbye, you got that

I would recommend everyone wait until a few people have jumped through the portal before anyone chooses to leave. No need to be guinea pigs.

I was considering offering my space unicorn for the experiments. They came from somewhere. And it's not going to stay if we go, anyway.

Is leaving somehow not pulling the same move? People's animals, children, and housing all disappear when someone leaves. Returning memory free from ever having pulled that move doesn't make it any less a "real dick move."

Using your animal as a guinea pig is the dick move part

Sitting back to let other people either be the guinea pig or use their animals as guinea pigs is better? Any people who have pets are also inherently making their animals guinea pigs.

Besides, the ticket was to ride a space unicorn, not to keep one. It belongs wherever it came from.

Ah, so it just doesn't matter that they're assholes whose dick moves are going to get you home. You don't have to address the dick move it is to sit by and let them do that for your benefit.

It's a space unicorn, Ronan. Pretty sure that means it's meant to be in space. Not on earth. Do what's right for the unicorn.

Somewhere else isn't inherently any better or worse than here. It could always just fly off into space there. As for the latter, it's terribly sad, but the space unicorn wouldn't be around to care about it. I imagine it would be a relatively quick and painless death.

Do any of your friends speak to animals? They could ask what it thinks.

Ah, let someone else's space unicorn or pokémon be the guinea pig, so long as it isn't in your close proximity. Right.

Not right away, but what about the coffee maker? It's asleep. Probably doesn't feel. Tests our home universe.

The things happening back home make me uneasy. While to the best of everyone's knowledge here, no one remembers this place when they go home, I wonder if it could do us some good to figure out the best we can what we can do back home... and hope that subliminally will help. Somehow. We've seen more impossible miracles.

I am personally inclined to take a little more time here. But I too have been here sometime, and I do not want to be here without you all.

Not forever. It's an incredible place. But it's different, when there is the chance to go home at will.

I like it here. But I miss my family. It's been over a year since I even just talked to my mom.

I'll stay and do whatever we need to do to feel like we got the most we could out of this place, but it's not going to be more than the two year mark for me. That's my limit.

I'm at what... three years? Even for me, this is a long time not to have talked to my mom.

We'll see the world, Jane. With stuff back home, I'm not sure whether we'll finish our trip there, and I'd like to do that here. And to forge a sword worthy of a hero. It doesn't need to take years. Or years more as it is.

I'll admit, I like the traveling to other worlds part here more than exploring this world, which is basically what we can do at home. Now I know there are other worlds out there, I want to see them all. But I've seen enough to miss my own world, too.

How close do you feel to making a worthy sword?

I absolutely love seeing other worlds. If the cruises were safe and peaceful, it would be nice to spend much more time doing that. This world is like ours, but it's also not ours. So I approach it with the same open mindedness.

Maybe a few months? I would also ideally have someone staying here worth making it for. A legacy beyond our time here.

It would be cool to stay long enough to do another cruise. Even if it's dangerous. But if they're one a year, then I don't know if we can. If we stay til next March and get on a cruise around that time, I can extend my time limit til the end of it. I don't know if we'll have the option to leave once we get on a cruise, anyway.

Maybe the swordmaker will be staying. Or another one of your friends. Do you have someone in particular in mind?

This year the cruise was really short. Perhaps we'll get the rest of it sooner? There's certainly no guarantee they could figure out how to send us back while on a cruise, simply because we don't know what materials that they need would be on hand. Still, we'll have that here. If a cruise comes before we leave, we can leave after the cruise.

Fen would lose a spouse if she went home. And possibly the baby? I do think it likely she'll stay. There are multiple people it could be. We are blessed to have excellent company. It's my hope at least one of them is staying here.

Okay, so, assuming that we can in fact choose to go home, we're going home by March 16, 2021 or at the end of a cruise if it starts before that and ends after.

I'll be intrigued to see what you make, and for whom.

I haven't been here long enough to have anything worth staying for but you. All of you. But back home... there's a lot to go back for. Good and bad, but I want to see the bad through too.

I'm not leaving before you, but you don't need to stay longer for me.

It sounds like Gansey wants to stay for a little while longer. And I need to figure out who is staying and who could take care of Slayer and maybe the turkeys. And if maybe I could leave my night horror behind somehow. Ditto will go back to where it came from and Chainsaw and Opal will come back with us. I dunno about Lindenmere or the Barns, they'll probably come back home too

I think in the back of my mind I'd convinced myself they'd all be able to come back with us, somehow.

Do you think Fray would be able to take them? It's too bad we can't find a way to make sure a copy of the Barns stayed here for her.

Also, will you help me catch up Gansey and Blue on everything going on at home? Gansey wants to try to figure out how to solve stuff or some shit

You could make her one that's her size for now. Like those electric ride-on ones. Then you could still dream her a real one for when she's old enough, leave the keys with her dad until then?

I'll take all the parts I can, and I'll hold your hand for the parts I can't if you want me to.
