I must admit, I am curious, having not ever explored space myself: how similar is what we are experiencing to the space those of you among us have encountered back in our homes?

Rather similar, but I'm used to having AIs inhabiting ships and space stations.

But I've also only ever been on military ships, not luxury cruises.

And space stations are just open shopping centres?

Obviously among other uses, it just strikes me as unusual.

No, they're a mix of residential and businesses. Like a neighborhood or a city, but in space.

It does seem a bit unusual, but I was told the species on the planet are toxic to others. Otherwise maybe they'd be up here on the station with us.

I suppose that does make some sense for planets with closed borders to take commerce outside them

But it just seems so--I believe the word I have seen is bougie?--to do so in the form of a mall.

Bourgeois? Meant for making money for the rich rather than supplying the people with necessities?

Yeah, I'd agree with that assessment.

I'm familiar with the term. I was referring to the slang one.

I wasn't familiar with the slang term, so I was confirming what you meant.

Some parts of the Radch are bougie. But also the highest social class is the military, and the military lives relatively austerely.

I'm used to way more things trying to kill us or take us prisoner.

That isn't unheard of for these cruises either

Nope, so just enjoy the ride until the inevitable happens.

Yeah, this is about right. If you're just cruising.

I doubt we are ever just anything.

Have you been to Naboo before?

It's not in our universe so that's a no.

Depends on what sector you're in. I didn't exactly hang out in the nice sectors.
