Re: Wake up.
When she was asleep she was completely vulnerable, she wasn't focusing on dealing with noise levels, or regulating her emotions, or expecting to have someone accost her with every alarm combination possible. Usually, she was okay. Loud noises at the house or wild weather hadn't caused her to lose control of her powers.
The alarms were something else though. There was pop music, metal music, the sounds of birds chirping, screeching alarms, was that the voice of the Rock?. Every alarm combination she could possibly think of, like nails on a damn chalkboard amplified to an impossible level and shoved into her eardrums and crawling down her skin.
Vanya's eyes flew open, sitting straight up as her hands flew to her head to cover her ears. The noise was deafening, and it was too much for her to regulate easily.
No, no, no, no
Her eyes shut, iris' now pure white, as she tried to focus on keeping all of that noise in because if she let it out it would be bad. Horrible. They were on a ship now, in space. If she let anything slip it could be death. She had to pull that power into herself, though wisps and notes slipped free as evident to anyone who might be paying attention. A breeze floating around her head caused her hair to whip around her face, though it didn't seem to go more than a few feet away from her.
It helped a little when someone finally turned the alarms off.
Vanya didn't catch anything of what happened next, she had no idea who or what was talking. She could hear them, far to clearly, but she was not paying attention.
Just breath, just breath. Focus, keep control, just let the sound go, she could deal with this.
As soon as they were able to move, she was up and moving for an exit. Vanya needed somewhere quiet, and this was not it.
