Calendar says there's another Earth holiday at the end of this month. Does this one come with some sort of warning, or is it tamer than the last one? I'd like to skip the whole dying part of Earthly celebrations if I can help it.

Thanksgiving. It's more of an American holiday than an Earth one. I don't know if the muggles where I'm from have some form of UK version, but we typically don't have anything like that.

Like people have been saying, the history of this holiday is bloody.

But Halloween is generally associated with the boundary between life and death, or earth and the other realms, being thinner and the dead (like zombies) being able to come through. Thanksgiving doesn't have the same association, so hopefully less likely to have the (un)dead walking around.

It absolutely involves Earth death. But usually they just kill the turkeys to symbolize the way that they overthrew their turkey overlord.
