Flash Reactionary: Field Trip to the Moon!
WHO: The Doctor and everybody who signed up that they wanted to go.
WHEN: Monday, November 18
WHERE: The TARDIS, then the MOON!
WHAT: Just like the subject header says - Field Trip to the Moon! 🌙

The Doctor arranged for the field trip to be at a time that is best for everybody's schedules - 'round about 6:00 pm. Meet at the EPS parking lot to find the TARDIS right in the middle for everybody to see. If your character has never been in the TARDIS before, feel free to Ooooo and Ahhhhh... the Doctor loves to watch people's reactions.

Everybody here? Good. Right. The Doctor will throw a few switches and in a matter of moments, they materialize on the surface of the moon. Everybody gets an orange space suit, provided by the TARDIS, though One Volunteer finds theirs is ill fitting... either too large or too big. It's only an inconvenience though, it doesn't hurt you during your space walk.

The Doctor will tell people NOT to bring home souvenirs, but if you do, he really doesn't care. Just don't take anything radioactive. Take photos, but don't be an idiot and post them publicity for the non-Displaced to see.

They'll go to the sites of some of the moon landings, and check out some of the stuff that was left behind , including the Apollo 16 LRV Moon Buggy. No, you can't take home the Moon Buggy, though the Doctor will admit that he's always wanted to.

One Volunteer to find out that space travel doesn't agree with them and gets sick.

One Volunteer to accidentally get left behind when the TARDIS leaves, only for them to return a few minutes later to pick them up after they realize they're not around.

They'll take the scenic route home, traveling through space. There's an oxygen bubble around the TARDIS so people can just open the door to lean out. If you're REALLY adventurous, the Doctor will show you how to climb outside the TARDIS to stand on the roof, but he'll be watching you very carefully to make sure nobody falls. One Volunteer may lean too far and teeter, only to have the Doctor grab you and pull you back to safety.

Ronan, Blue, and Isobel came! :D

Ronan's been in the TARDIS before, but Blue and Isobel haven't. Blue will be agog. Isobel has seen Dr. Who and knew what to expect (it's one of the few friendly alien shows out there!) but she'll still be pretty amazed by the real thing. After all the show only shows like the control center.

The Doctor *loves* it when people are wow'd, though he'd play it cool. He'll give Isobel and Blue tours, if they want... but after the field trip.

They would love tours! Ronan will probably come along with Blue just for the lols

Isobel at some point may confess that a) she has seen his show and b) is also an alien from somewhere unknown.

Maybe the tour could be at a later date for MORE INTERACTION PURPOSES???

The Doctor won't be surprised if she'd seen his show... but the alien bit is something that WOULD fascinate him... expect questions!

Sure!

Isobel is like, sure, questions are fine but all I know is acetone makes us feel better and we have psychic powers 🤷‍♀️

The Doctor will do a scan with his sonic to get an idea of her physiology.... actually... let me get back to you for a bit more one on one discussion about this?

Yeah man, I would love for Michael to get answers, except... there are none. And the books and old show are so divergent that can't really know which route they'd go with. >_>

Gansey and Declan Lynch came.

Neither had been in the TARDIS. Gansey was going around and exclaiming and being super into EVERYTHING. Probably left the control room if that was okay? Boyo is super happy and into it.

Declan will take it in, blandly. He will try to get a view of the Doctor using the controls, if only so that they don't get stuck in space if anything goes wrong. But he won't try to touch/interfere. May provide a bland compliment. >>

How about this? The Doctor's attention is elsewhere giving Gansey the chance to wander the halls... but the TARDIS is sentient and knows that a stranger is somewhere they're not supposed to be... so she makes the corridors twisty and turny so Gansey gets lost. But then the Doctor's pokemon, Elgyem will appear to lead him to safety :D

Bland comments irritate the Doctor, though he'll be unsuccessfully trying to hide it

That sounds great. Gansey doesn't even CARE about getting lost (not the highest survival instincts?). And he'll enjoy every twisty turn of it.

Lol. Sorry, Doctor. Declan's admiration is honest. It's just filtered blandly.

The Doctor is very possessive of the TARDIS and while he admires curiosity, he doesn't like the idea of somebody he really doesn't know just running around, poking into places where they shouldn't be going.

Michael was there and basically giddier than a kid on Christmas. To the point that he might not even bother with playing it cool because they're going to THE MOON. They're IN SPACE. He's only been dreaming about this for forever.

He'd be taking everything in and would join Isobel on the tour. And would ask techy, mechanical questions about the TARDIS.

This is the kind of reaction that the Doctor LIVES FOR.

Over the years he's become jaded, so he thrives on the excitement of others to rekindle his love, seeing the universe through their eyes. Because of that, the Doctor will spend more time and attention with Michael, attracted to his giddiness like a magnet. He will love to answer any questions he can. Maybe they can become closer friends after this?

Michael is totally the overexcited idiot who'd nearly fall out. Probably because he's also the adventurous sort that'd want to stand on the roof of the TARDIS. XD

The Doctor grabs him by the arm before he topples into the darkness of space! He'll give Michael a LOOK, but he doesn't blame him... the excitement is real, and the Doctor encourages that.

Re: Volunteer - Almost Falls

Michael has a momentary 'oh shit' moment because that's an automatic reaction for falling, right, but he recovered quickly. Especially since his mind just started going with the whole 'ok but if he did fall out into space, would he be ok? they don't know what their physiology is even capable of. sure they needed a ship, but who knows what life support was like on it. maybe they have some sort of emergency reaction to let them survive in space for a bit'.

After a moment he says thanks and shrugs it off with a 'First time in space'.

The Doctor pats him on the back to let him know it's cool, and then just tells him to be more careful so it won't happen again. Internally, he'll be more diligent to watch that Michael stays safe. It's not that he's angry... he sees his guests as his responsibility and if anything happens to them, even though it's not technically his fault (falling), then he'll have to answer for their condition.
