No, but I have some skills to offer as a bouncer. I also saw there was a recent arrival from your world, and you'd maybe like to keep a closer eye on your customers acting weird - or weirder. Back home, I knew the Winchesters, so Hunting 101 is something I've passed.

Not that it was a real class. Exactly.

But I also pick things up fast, so I'd be willing to learn how to bartend.

Thanks for offering to let me interview. I don't have a lot of traditional work experience to stick on a resume. And I can't exactly stick "Avenger" on one in some places here.

Yeah, this place has more similarities to home every day. We were stuck under an anonymous umbrella for years before we could go public. Even "fictional" fame has its benefits, but this place is reminding me of what I used to like about just being one of those kids from the weird housing community.

Crazy, at first. Fans wanted to know everything that all the source materials didn't show, paparazzi followed us around, and in general people had a lot of strong feelings about who they thought we were.

But it also helped good things happen. The Stark name got other Starks funding to do all kinds of medical and people-helping stuff and our Tony was able to work on things he felt like doing, which was a big deal. The Avengers were able to get back to helping people around the world. Magic users could go help with serious disasters. People who had been in jobs that didn't fit what they had been in their original world's finally got to use their work experience when getting new jobs. Some used their kind of celebrity status to go around on talk shows and get endorsements. Stuff like that.

It wasn't all great, with no privacy without a lot of work, and everyone acting like they knew you better than you know yourself and telling you how you should have done this or that different in bad situations, and people thinking they were getting Captain America and it was me who showed up or not treating me like an individual, people trying to use information from the shows and movies and books out there to get what they wanted.

Kind of a mixed bag, just like this is.

Yeah, I know. And I knew you weren't going to make it easy for me. But I'm an adult, and outside this family, paying back loans is part of being one, isn't it?

Maybe a hundred? You know how weird the Winchester/Hunter shopping list is, and I need it all if I want to impress the boss at the Roadhouse.

If it makes you happy, okay. But you can't stop me spending money on you. Refusing gifts is really rude, especially when a parent does it.

Jo. I'm trying to get a job, and I know how twitchy they are about having demons around, so I didn't want her wasting her supplies testing me on what I know. And it's good to come extra prepared to an interview, right? It has to be one of the few places that acting like a nerd is encouraged.
