Town has gone completely bonkers again. No one seems to think that the Paraguay happened. I tried to mention it at one of my meetings today, and they corrected me. "You mean the chemical spill?"

This is exhausting.

Considering the various ramifications we would need to deal with if they did remember the oddities and strife brought randomly to this world, I prefer them not remembering.

The worst part is that we never know what they're going with until someone corrects us. For someone in my position, it makes me appear ignorant.

I've learned its best to simply say "What did you think of the latest in the news?"

Sounds an awful lot like a memory altering charm, unless the rest of the world had not gotten the same news we had.

Oh, they got it. We've been sifting through all the information while we try to get permission to head down there. Good thing we saved it all too, because it's all gone now.

Is that possible? I was under the impression that whatever was put into this Internet could not be taken out!

That's only a very slight exaggeration. In theory if you found every server that was hosting a copy of something and removed it, you could get it off the internet. If it's something no one has any interest in it won't be hosted on as many servers. Something that's gone viral could easily have millions of copies. It's possible you could write a malicious script to track down every single copy and destroy it entirely, but it would have to be insanely advanced. Magic might make it easier, but that would depend on the magic.

I googled until my fingers could no longer google. It's around the world. Everything's been changed.

That's a peculiar and powerful sort of magic.

We sure have a lot of chemical issues.

You'd think they'd completely shut down the town by now.

You would. All these gas leaks and chemical spills.

I'd ask why we're still here, but we know damn well why we are.

Yeah. We definitely know why we're still here.

It is an almost cinematic abuse of power, the unwriting of incidents.

The unwriting. I like that.

The word, not the actual doing.
