I was looking over the businesses in this town because of a certain shop and I'm confused by another one. Why does a place called "Capes & Collectibles" have nothing to do with actual capes?

And am I right that in this world, you shouldn't go to the police station to "answer a few questions" without legal representation present? Because I declined to go.

I think that in any world, if there's a question about guilt or innocence, one shouldn't answer official questions without someone else present, yes.

If you believe there's a need for legal representation, then yes. If you merely want someone else there so that it's not ' you said ' and ' the police said ', then anyone.

Are you being questioned officially about the Darth Vapor vandalism?

But how do you know if there's a need?

I was asked if I'd come in to discuss that, but don't know if it was an official request and if I'll have legal consequences or not because I refused. I assume if it was actually official, it'd be in writing and not on the network, but I don't know the process on this world.

Even if you're innocent in whatever they want you to come in for, it's better to have someone who knows the law and how it works. You don't want to be tricked or coerced into saying anything that might incriminate you, and that does happen. You can't possibly know how a cop is going to treat you or if they'll really listen to what you say. Lawyers can help handle that. Talk to them first so they can help you give your statement to the police.

I've seen one on the network. Harvey Specter.

It's always smart to have a lawyer present when dealing with law enforcement. I would never recommend against it, even if you had been guilty and came to confess. Your lawyer is your advocate, regardless of any wrongdoing.

However, if you'd like an update on the case: we know it wasn't you. We have fingerprints from the scene, and they matched someone from town. They were not Displaced.

You are always welcome to decline when it's in an unofficial capacity such as the way I asked you. If I had come to your house with a warrant, that would mean we had authority to bring you in for questioning.
