As much fun as driving into a mysterious forest where there used to be a town sounds, I'm going to see if I can still find a motel room in Pecos. Someone text me when things are back to normal.

Yeah, probably a good idea.

Very rarely I have one and actually act on it.

I don't trust this forest.

It's nighttime, there are no street lights, and there's quite possibly dangerous and fantastic creatures wandering around. I trust Maggie, but not when I can barely see.

There's lights, but they're definitely not helpful.

Little? I'm not really an expert on this magic stuff.

Tei-Pai-Wanka. Don't follow those. Especially if the ground starts getting swampy.

The Delaware and Wampanoag nations have stories about creatures that live in woods and swamps. They don't like people and have a lot of different tricks when upset. One of them is summoning Tei-Pai-Wanka, floating lights that confuse travelers and lead them into danger. They're particularly fond of trapping people in marshy ground and leaving them to drown.

Well that's just great.
