Eliot stood by the window with his free hand stuffed into the pocket of the slacks he'd pulled on moments before. The window was cracked open and the curtains were pulled back. His eyes were temporarily cast out at the night sky as the smoke he was breathing out was caught by the light breeze and drifted out the window. He pulled the cigarette away from his lips and turned his head, gazing over his shoulder towards Kylo, giving him the same vibrant and bright smile that he'd been displaying for most of the evening. It had been a perfect day and was shaping up to being a perfect night as well. And while he'd only been away from the man for the length of time it had taken to cross the room and enjoy a cigarette, he was already wanting to cross back and rejoin his orbit.
The bank heist had gone just as planned. There was no surprises. No magicians had arrived in this Universe and somehow integrated themselves into the Federal Reserve. No other supernatural security forces had presented themselves. It was just what any non Magician in his world would expect to be in place. Thus, easy to get around and easy to access the payload. They'd left with plenty for each participant to be content for some time. Of course, Eliot wasn't involved for the money. He had plenty of that and with how little they actually had to pay for their lives here, since magic took care of so much, he didn't feel a need. But he'd missed the thrill and while his first bank heist had ended horribly, this one gave him exactly what he'd wanted. A rush of adrenaline and scandal and a high of excitement.
It was the perfect prelude to his evening with Kylo. He'd pulled his lover down into bed with him the moment he could and Eliot was in heaven by this point of the evening.
His attention shifted, however, over towards their dresser. One of the tablets had been left upon it and was playing music as a background sound throughout the evening. But a smirk grew because the song was one he hadn't heard in years. Bless pandora, as they say. He snuffed out his cigarette and did a quick hand motion, that was automatic when he smoked, as it rid the lingering scent away, before moving over towards the tablet. He picked it up and turned the sound up higher, eyes casting up to look back to Kylo for a moment, with a wider grin. Setting it down, he swiped up the bottle of champagne that they'd left on the dresser earlier, and moved back for the bed.
He let himself fall back onto the mattress, his body propping up with an elbow, holding the bottle up in the air with a firm grip, before he sang along with the track, "Well, he walked up to me and he asked me if I wanted to dance."
Kylo hadn't seen Eliot in this good of a mood for a while, and it was honestly increasing his own delight. Eliot seemed happy, playful, less burdened by the different cares they'd somehow seemed to take on over the past few months, and this was Eliot the confident, the spectacular, the happy, the playful.
Kylo smirked at the bottle, smirked at the song, and he leaned in to press a quick kiss to Eliot's lips. "If you wanted me to dance, I think you should have stayed standing," he offered, low and bemused. "Unless that's not the kind of dance you had in mind?"
"I'd chose a different song if I was sweeping you up onto your feet, Ky," he said, the corners of his smile turning up into a smirk. The smirk remained as he gave a huff of amusement, cheeks feeling a flush of heat, as he moved to set the bottle down upon their bedside table by the empty champagne flutes. "I fully intend to take you for another spin or two before the nights over," he teased, turning back to him so he could in turn give another kiss.
But for now, he took hold of Kylo's hand, and shifted to laying full on his back, lifting their connected hands up in the air so he could look upon them. "We should, though. Go dancing." He cast his gaze back to Kylo, looking up at him through the mess of curls.
"What song?"
It was the first thing that Kylo could think of at Eliot's statement. The first thing he wanted to know. For a while the only thing in his life that had felt important was getting to know Eliot, and then everything had shifted all around, and now they were back to it, weren't they? Maybe? If there weren't any cruises, or ridiculous memories, or arrivals, or deaths, or injuries, or attacks… maybe - just maybe.
"What song would you want if you were dancing with me?"
"I have to pick just one?" He responded, though his expression changed to an inquisitive one for a moment. He lowered their hands and shifted, curling up against him, while still holding his hand.
"Righteous Brothers. Unchained Melody." he then said, with a firm nod.
Kylo breathed out, that feeling of having Eliot next to him, relaxing him as it always did. It felt a world away from how he frequently felt on the ship. In fact, more and more Kylo was having a difficult time even remembering what that had felt like, except that he didn't like it - and that he loved this. Even not having a ship, even not having the ability to travel the galaxy, he preferred this.
The song title meant nothing to him, of course, not really. He knew a handful of songs that he'd learned over the past year mostly because of Q and Eliot, and a few other things that had stuck, but if this was what Eliot wanted, then Kylo was interested. "Is it fast or slow?" He asked, sliding fingers against Eliot's fingers.
"It's slow," he responded, thinking for a moment. He could easily play it for him he supposed. "It's the kind where you hold each other close and just sway," he expounded upon.
Kylo smiled, curling a little tighter into Eliot even though really there wasn't much more room to invade his space. He liked the sound of that honestly. "In other words it's something that we could do even though I don't always know dancing," he quipped lightly.
His face broke out into a full on grin as he proceeded to nod his head in agreement. "Precisely," he agreed, letting go of Kylo's hand then so he could shift over onto his stomach. His arm came across to rest on Kylo's chest and he proceeded to rest his chin against his arm, smiling up at him now.
"You remember Swayze? No one puts Baby in a Corner?" He asked, raising an eyebrow as he did. One of the very first films he'd shown both Kylo and Petunia had been Dirty Dancing so he figured it was a likely possibility that it would be remembered. And Eliot hadn't hidden his high opinion of the actor back then.
"The one with the dancing, yeah?" Kylo moved his now free hand up so that he could slide it through Eliot's curls, a smile forming as he did this because he loved doing it. It was one of his favorite pastimes. "The camp, and the dancing, and they learned dancing out in the woods."
Kylo doubted he could ever have that level of grace, but there was something appealing about trying to learn it possibly. Particularly with Eliot, and particularly in the woods, not that Texas had many of those. He shifted slightly, turning onto his side so that he could look at Eliot fully.
"Let's get a cabin in the woods," he suggested, spontaneous and on a whim.
"That's the one," he replied, a vibrant grin forming over the fact that Kylo had remembered it well enough. It'd been a long time since Eliot had watched the movie. In fact, he thought that might have been the last time he'd watched it. "Swayze is in this other movie. Ghost. Unchained Melody is pretty synonymous with it now," he explained.
Then he gave a bit of a smirk. "Do you want to go rent one or do you want to buy one?" The idea of spending a significant amount of time in the woods wasn't something Eliot typically would enjoy but he found himself rather amenable when it included Kylo. If Kylo wanted to camp out in the woods, by God, Eliot was going to camp out in the woods.
Kylo blinked, but it occurred to him almost immediately that buying one wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, and they could do it. They had the money for it. "Let's buy a cabin," he grinned. "Somewhere with real woods - not here… Somewhere we have to open a portal to. Something that's cozy, but has enough space for us to take Fen and Fray if they want to come with us. Not too rustic - it needs electricity and running water," he smirked. He knew Eliot, and honestly, he knew himself - he had no desire to rough it in any sense. "We'll have a holiday home, El. We can be that couple now."
He thought about that for a moment. He'd never gone in to purchase something like that with anyone. The Cottage wasn't his or any of the other Physical students. They'd just inherited it via portal. And Whitespire had been something else he'd inherited. But he'd never purposefully bought a space to call his own, and never with someone else. "Maybe New Hampshire or Oregon. We could go scout out places. See what we like," he suggested, finding the idea more than tempting.
He shifted, moving back up and directly beside Kylo. "Oh, it'd have to have electricity and water," he agreed, still smiling as he thought on the idea. "Let's do it."
Kylo smiled, lifting a hand to push back Eliot's curls from his face. "I like this scouting notion too. We should rent a few places in some of these places, just to be certain, maybe. Since," he shrugged, smirking. "You've arranged for money to be no object whatsoever."
"We could ask the girls to go with us once we narrow down options. See what they think," he suggested before he gave a devious smirk. "Ah, with my criminal exploits?" He couldn't help but give a cheeky glance with this. While they'd not really needed the money, since they didn't pay for much outside of food and recreation, the bank heist had been more about fun than income. Still, he was going to enjoy the benefits.
"I had another thought for how to spend some of the money."
At one time the suggestion of sharing these sorts of things with anyone other than Eliot might have been frustrating. Perhaps even Kylo would be if it came up a different night, but for right now he felt happy and comfortable and content, and he simply nodded. "What's your other thought?" he asked, curious, as usual about Eliot's ideas.
"Maybe we should look into how much Java Jawa or Jawa Java or whatever it is you decide to call it would cost," he said, with the earlier cheeky grin fading. A softer smile was left in its place that he hoped conveyed how serious he was about the suggestion.
Kylo's gaze came up to Eliot's and it intensified with the suggestion. "My own place?" He queried, but he could feel how serious the other man was about the words and idea behind them that he'd just presented. He smiled, and he leaned forward to catch Eliot's lips. "I love you,' he told him. "And I love your ideas."
