It's all a matter of perspective. Do I believe that Jaba deserved to die? Yes, absolutely. He routinely killed and enslaved people, stole food from hungry people on his own planet, committed terrorist acts to gain more power. But my motives were completely selfish in every way to get to that point. I wasn't looking to take out Jaba; I was looking to save Han.
Millions of people were extorted and blackmailed into joining the Imperial Forces, mostly threatened with the safety of their families. I was lucky enough to have grown up with parents who started the Rebellion and instilled those ideals in me. Maybe I was never destined to be left in the care of people without those core beliefs, but millions of others never had a choice, not in the wake of the Clone Wars. Not when Palpatine promised them peace and he delivered to a lot of people. I know that I can never give them back their lives or ensure their loved ones' safety, but perhaps I should have tried harder to reach more people.
I'm not the reason there's a Resistance. That has nothing to do with me, and everything to do with the people who chose hope over nihilism.
