Tony did not react to Bruce's touch. He kept his eyes focused on the empty doorway, his right hand still firmly holding his left wrist. He tried to digest what Banner was saying, but all his mind would focus on was what Bruce had said. The gravity of the situation was too grave. There would be no comfort. Not right now.
He turned to look at Bruce, his eyes betraying the dizzying array of shock, fear, sorrow, guilt, and powerlessness that he felt. And rather than speak, he promptly got to his feet, grabbed his phone, wallet, and car keys from the night stand and walked out the door.
