I'd like to issue a warning for anyone who comes into contact with Holland Vosijk. He's a dangerous magician who, in the past, has endeavored to kill me, my family, and destroy my world. Please be wary of the information you provide him with.

Ronan

Gansey had been speaking to Holland, and it concerns me.

There's not a lot of information available about him on the internet. Do you mind if I look into some of your source material for more? Or would you rather tell me more about his powers/weaknesses?

I appreciate the warning. When dangerous people have shown up from my world, I had to give them the "fresh start" that people here insisted they could have, but the displaced did also support me when things went wrong with them. And I'll do the same for you.

There's no point in arguing with Elsa. You'll likely only end up frustrated. This is what happened when I informed people that I was worried about a demon - who is also still here.

Please feel free, Sam.

His powers are quite like mine, though. He has more experience in general than I did, but particularly when it comes to fighting.

Alright. I'll try to not to invade your privacy, as much as possible.

He's just one person, still. There are a lot of powerful people here who would help to stop him, if it was needed.

I know. I'd just rather not give him the chance to hurt anyone else.

I didn't think such a statement would cause controversy.

The principle of it, as I understand it, is that it sets a dangerous precedent to take any steps against a new arrival based on their crimes at home, because many people here have made bad choices, or broken the law, and so they see themselves in someone like Holland who might be denied a fresh start.

But it's also hard to be in your position and have equally personal reasons to want to prevent him from hurting people, based on your past experience with him. I guess I can see both sides of the argument - I've made some disastrous mistakes, myself, and I appreciate the "fresh start", but I also have had to sit and wait for the literal devil to actually hurt someone before I was allowed to do anything about having him here, even though I knew full well it was going to happen.

It still worked out alright, though, because people here did come around. So try not to worry too much about them.

I'm sure everyone knows by now not to expect me to give a shit about interpersonal drama. He can just avoid you like everyone else who's been a victim of some big bad here does.

For all that his judgment may be compromised by emotion, there is some logic behind his concern for public safety. Even I won't argue with that.

But I suppose if you also don't 'give a shit' about world destruction, then you could also easily avoid him, probably even more easily than he can avoid me.

Depends if you actually intend to destroy this world as well. Most people don't.

Not personally, but if he's squeamish about people with a history of it he should know that this is hardly the first bloody time one's turned up. Shockingly few of them are motivated by shits and giggles.

I can think of at least three, offhand, who would cause immense destruction just for power, regardless of what world they're in.

It sounds mostly like he doesn't like you. I guess there's something to be said about saying it where everyone can see it. Like maybe you like getting killed a little. See, I'd worry about that, but then I don't have to because I also have alarmist acquaintances who have to protect me from everyone.

I'm not sure what's more exhausting boring: people wanting to kill you or living in anticipation of people wanting to kill you and no one trying to kill you.

Well, most people don't try to kill they like, I believe.

Do with the information what you want.

That really depends on the person, though. Maybe he actually really really likes you to an obsessive degree and figures if he can't have you, no one can. Go big or go home.

Within the universe that Holland and I come from, it's divided into four different worlds, each of which has a London. Holland comes from what we call White London while I am from Red. We are the only two of our kind who can travel between these worlds.

Holland was grievously injured in Black London, where he made a deal with a magic demon called Osaron to lend him his body so they could leave Black London and return to White, where Osaron helped magic flourish. However, when Holland realized how dangerous Osaron really was, he told Osaron that he would convince me to allow Osaron to possess me and then allow Osaron to consume my London.
