When I've faced them in my galaxy, there's generally a source; however, I don't see one amid this battalion. They are generally pre-programmed, but I've seen them sometimes make spontaneous adjustments to their orders based on the situation.

They're also incredibly stupid and easy to fool in small groups or in a one-on-one confrontation.
