A few announcements.
  • The Ellie Phimister School will be resuming classes full time on Monday, April 16, 8:30 A.M..
  • Students who have yet to register for courses should do so before Monday, current students may wish to revisit their schedules.
  • Anyone needing placement tests should contact us ASAP about setting those up.
  • The Ellie Phimister School is also currently seeking teachers for
Art History, Music, Band, Journalism, Computer Science, French, Astronomy, Environmental Science, History, Courses not yet offered, and someone for our Early Childhood program (largely a daycare for young, superpowered children)

For those not familiar with the Ellie Phimister School, it is an accredited private charter school which opened in Spring 2017 and admits only displaced individuals. It serves K-12, with an early childhood program as well. The EPS recruits teachers preferentially from within the Displaced community and is fully accommodating and friendly to those with powers or from timelines with different technology levels. It offers accelerated programs for those with non-traditional educational backgrounds and training to control abilities as requested. Class sizes are generally under 5-10 and we currently have a roughly 1:1 ratio of staff to students (though that number varies depending on how many children we have at any given time).

It should be similar to what we had on the cruise, if traditional school hours of 8:30 - 3:30 M-F.

A brief note, for those Texas state law requires all young people age 6-19 who lack a diploma or GED to be enrolled full time in school whether it is public (Tumbleweed High School), private, or parochial. (Home schooling can be an option, but there are state requirements that need to be observed. )
