WHO: YOU and several pirate ships WHEN: MONDAY, March 26 at 4pm WHERE: The ship in the middle of the ocean. WHAT: Several pirate ships appear. They want something from you. TRIGGERS: If anything you respond with has a trigger, please make sure to put it in the subject line so people can know whether or not to read it. Thank you guys. <3
GATEWAY: ALRIGHT STOP. EMP(s) TIME.
WHAT HAPPENS
Five ships of various sizes move into attack formation. Two of them are on the ocean and move faster than your average ship does; one comes from in front of the ship, the other from the rear. Three of them come from out of nowhere (teleport) and are airborne ships. These ships are well equipped with a variety of steampunk weaponry with science fiction style shields.
What do they want? ALL THE ALCOHOL ON BOARD THE SHIP.
All of it. Every last drop. Everything you've picked up from various ports (especially the elven wine), everything on board the ship, and they know exactly what's on the ship. They've been casing Gateway Cruises for a long time.
And okay, they want all your tech too. Even if it's down or not working completely. As you can tell from their weaponry, they have taken from other ships. It's a mishmash of tech and magic, sometimes in the same weapon. Clearly, they know what they're doing. Swords that sometimes behave like energy swords. Guns that act more like blasters. Hell, guns that act like energy canons. And that's probably not all they've got up their sleeves Literally. They're pirates.
Time to beat up some pirates!
A FEW QUICK THINGS
Most of the fighting, we're going to leave up to you. However, there are a few things that we need:
If you haven't completed your WEAPONS INVENTORY, do it NOW. It can't be changed before the fighting starts.
Hold off the pirates. They're really well-versed in fighting. Some have augmented their physical bodies with magic or tech. Play with it!
Time to SMASH things on the ship! \o/
I know some of you don't like to kill. You do you.
Try to get kids, the disabled, and others who can't fight out of harm's way. Remember the plan for attacks. Stick to your posts unless you're working on the ship.
This isn't going to be an easy battle. These pirates know what they're doing and are prepared for people with powers. Which means, we're rolling for damage.
0 - no damage
1-3 - minor damage: scrapes, bruises, cuts. These things generally take a few days to a week to heal.
4-5 - intermediate damage: broken bones, internal injuries, things that will take a few weeks to heal.
6-8 - major damage: permanent injuries such as: for a 6: things like permanent scarring, minor nerve damage), 7 would be spinal injuries that aren't paralysis, hearing loss, 8 would be missing limbs, paralysis, brain damage. While you can eventually learn to deal with these, you will never be healed. (characters will healing powers and other magical means of won't be able to heal you.)
9 - Death. If your character dies, they will be labeled as deceased on the discharacters page and are no longer playable by anyone.
Those of you working on the ship's engines? Should stick to that. Let people know that you're working down there because by 6pm, the ship's engine and almost everything should come back online.
Which means that anyone without a magicband will be unceremoniously phased through the ship into the ocean. (All new characters who came during the EMP still have a magicband. It was there when they arrived). The pirates know they cannot do anymore attacking.
Within a few hours after, the ship will be almost completely repaired so any ship damage sustained during the fight will be cleared up.
However, because people took apart robots, about half the robots on the ship are still stuck. Sometimes in people's doorways, sometimes in the hallway, sometimes in the kitchens behind the scenes. As such the following things will be down until sometime during the next port:
Connoisseur Club
Explorer Lounge
Pacific Rim
Coffee Bar
The Cafe
Prime 7
Constellation Theater
The Study
Canyon Ranch Spa Club
Robo-butlers will mostly be online, unless you've taken yours apart. Then it'll be stuck there while it tries to repair itself.
Please wait until I've gotten the categories up before replying! We would like to keep as much of the in person interaction here. Try not to have a hundred posts freaking out about the pirates, you're better off sticking to one post and just having everyone check in on it, like we did with the original ship arrival post.
