The more I have begun to settle in the more I find myself curious about the different world's represented here. There are some similarities it seems, but also a number of differences.
Indeed - it seems possible that different types of magic may work differently against the foe - so we can keep that in mind. Keep our eyes open for what we are seeing and how things are reacting. Change direction accordingly.
Wand making magic is something I do now know outside of the theory of it. You would need someone who could specifically evaluate you, and your particular magical skills. If Olivander were ever to show up, he's a trustworthy wand maker, and he has the knowledge to be able to match well. In all my years of teaching at Hogwarts, I've never seen a student fail with an Olivander wand matched to them. Those that struggle are usually ones using wands that were not a match, or sometimes from lesser wand makers.
There are others, of course, but some have varying degrees of trustworthiness.
