Domesticate house cats are a common addition to many deep space missions. It has been demonstrated that feline purring, which reverberates between a frequency range of 20 to 140 Hz, can elicit a therapeutic response in humans. These responses include, but are not limited to: lowering stress, decreasing symptoms of dyspnea, decreasing the chance of myocardial infarction, and stimulating bone growth.
