VOICE TO TEXT

I’m [...] so I hope my left handed wandwork is not as atrocious as my lefthanded handwriting. Ha. This is not what I was expecting today.

How do you feel about prosthetics?

I haven't really thought about them. I guess.

Well, let me pitch this to you: I'm the best in the galaxy. Ask that Jedi who is missing an arm.

Which one, though? I don't even remember the one that Tonks was always talking about.

There's only ONE missing an arm here. His name's Anakin Skywalker.

Only one? I thought that was like a part of becoming a Jedi. You just unwittingly lose limbs.

Well, there's another one missing a limb, but he's not here.

Hm. Okay. I guess I could give this prosthetic thing a go.

Is it your arm? Just the hand from the wrist down? Part of the hand?

Just my hand. Wrist down. Sorry in advance if my whole family tries to be part of this.

Great, they can help me get the tech I'll need on shore. Atlantean tech is much better than the crap on Earth. Anything robotic or metal.

Okay. I’ll let them know.

I probably won't be able to do anything about feeling until we get back to Tumbleweed. That's where all my stuff is, but I have a makeshift work area, and some parts around.

Do you want it completely attached or detachable?

It’s okay. I probably won’t be able to use it for wandwork anyway. Maybe if I get lucky. I’m sure I’ll be fine either way.

What’s the difference? Or is there one outside of the detachable part?

Wandwork. That sounds so dirty, but sure. Whatever you want.

Detachable hands means that you can have backups and those backups can do various things.

It’s [...] never sounded weird until now.

Oh. I’m not sure I’ll need back ups, but I guess in case something happens, detachable might work best.

I can't say I know of anyone who wittingly lost a limb.

(And I'm not a Jedi any more.)

Aphra does extremely good work, and she has experience.

I mean, I guess that makes more sense. I don't really know much about muggle films outside of what Tonks tells me.

Oh.

Yeah. It's going to be an adjustment either way. I guess as long as I don't die, it's not a problem.

I don't know about your world, either, so we're on fairly even ground.

It is an adjustment. And it's a loss. Even though you didn't die, and even if you get a perfectly functional prosthetic, you've lost part of your body.

Yeah. I'm not trying to think about I don't It's fine I've had worse. I didn't lose any body parts then, but it was more the waiting to be sure I wasn't a werewolf and the injury took a while to heal.

That's definitely not one of the experiences I've had. Limb loss, on the other hand...

It isn't like other injuries where you eventually heal up like you were before-- unless you're from a world or species where you can grow it back.

No. I know I can't grow it back. I just I can't

I wasn't sure.

Sometimes it may feel like you still have it. Your "hand" will hurt.
