Have you studied the tides where you're from?

We could to try to find if this place has a similar orbital rotation or not? That could potentially answer a lot of the water based questions and variations that you're observing.

The easiest way to look into this would be to try to find a library, or an internet connection, but I'm not sure we'll be able to get either of those.

Oh! Maybe we could interview some of the ship crew? They might have a tour guide around here or something too.

There's a library! But I mostly saw a lot of old books when I was there. There might be some almanacs too, though.

Library's are perfect! I bet we can undoubtedly find something in there if we just look hard enough.

Maybe they'll tell us something if we ask the right questions? [.....] I know it's probably not likely, but it doesn't hurt to try! :)

Yeah [....] they're a little unsettling, huh? I'm sure we'll be okay though! With all the super powered people around I can't imagine anyone would just let them do random stuff.

I don't know. The ocean at home has high and low tides. It could be this ocean just has a really, really long extended high tide. But it could also be something else.
