Ginny’s new pygmy puff sat on her shoulder, rubbing her face against Ginny’s chin. “I think Harry will like you,” she said in a soft tone. “Maybe he’ll help me pick out a name for you.” As much as she missed Arnold, it didn’t feel right to wish him back and to be honest she didn't even think of asking for Arnold. Instead she thought making new memories with another pygmy puff would be nice.
Ginny looked to the left at her broom resting on her bed and grinned. “And it’s nice to have you back too!” It may seem silly to talk to an object, but Ginny missed her broom. The Nimbus X-Force had been out for two years now, and it was the standard broom for the Holyhead Harpies, and it was definitely Ginny’s favorite broom.
Harry arranged a meeting with Ginny via text. Some part of him wanted to send Hedwig over as a surprise, like trading owl post with Ron awhile back. But he didn’t, instead just asked what she was up to and if he could come over.
He was let inside by one of the many inhabitants, and jogged up the stairs to Ginny’s room. Under his arm was a photo album. Harry cleared his throat outside her room instead of knocking. He did call out, “Ginny, luv?”
Luckily for Ginny, she had been silent for a few moments before hearing Harry’s voice outside of her room. Not that it would embarrass her, maybe a little, as Harry had probably heard her talking to herself enough at this point in their lives. Opening the door, she greeted him with a bright smile.
“Hi, Harry.” She moved to the side, making room for him to walk through the doorway. Her grin never faded as she moved her eyes to the new rose-colored pygmy puff on her shoulder. “Look what Santa brought me.” Ginny beamed. “I haven’t got a name for her yet, I’m pretty sure you’re a her.” Ginny added cautiously. “It’s hard to tell.” Turning back her attention to Harry she said, “I’m glad you’re here.”
Harry moved sideways and shuffled into Ginny’s room. He’d only been in it a few times in his life-- and they always had to keep the door open. Now they were adults and it probably didn’t apply, the only people who knew he was here was the door opener (Tonks, as it were), and Ginny herself.
“She’s cute,” he said with a small smile. Harry settled down on Ginny’s bed with the album in his lap. “You’ll think of a name, it won’t be too difficult.” He glanced around the room and saw her broom. Harry had to take everything in him to not jump up and admire it. “Sit with me?”
Ginny nodded, her eyes following Harry as he sat down on her bed. Nodding, she followed suit and sat down next to him. “Everyone all right?” She asked eyeing him carefully. There was no reason to suspect something had been wrong. He only sent her a message to meet up, giving her no sign that something had been bothering him. Even so, it didn’t hurt to ask. Had it been serious, it wasn’t likely he’d say so in a message, no unless he wanted to her to pace around her room as she waited for his arrival.
“Oh! Goodness, yes,” he said, pushing up his glasses. He needed to get the arms of them tightened, they kept falling off his nose. “I should have been more specific.” He held up the photo album, shook it a little, and then laid it flat in his lap. “I had this when I was younger, Hagrid gave it to me.” He opened the first page and it was a picture of Lily and James, a year or two older than they were now, dancing. Since they were wizard pictures, they were like tiny little Instagram boomerangs. He smiled fondly at it, and then looked over at Ginny.
