The sound of mum's voice from upstairs made Percy smile to himself, and as he waited, he picked up a towel and began drying the dishes that were magically being washed - it was an automatic reaction, to help out around the house and be useful, and done without any motives.
A young Molly Weasley was such a strange sight - why, Percy thought, she was possibly younger than himself! But she wasn't unrecognizable, and she sounded the same as he remembered, but what must she think? As he hugged her back, he needed to ask, "Don't you feel detached? Seeing your children all grown, without actually being there to watch them?" A bit of insecurity crept into his tone of voice, because he'd always felt closest to his mother, and needed the reassurance that she still felt the same... especially if he was going to tell her about the rift that would happen in her future / happened in his past.
