I don't suppose there's anyone looking for a job who is interested in homeschooling? My children are troublesome shapeshifters who don't always understand that they can't show everyone what they can do. Winter decided she was going to fly off the top of the damn playground to get away from some bullies.

I've had a talk with the school and insisted that there must be some kind of mistake. That Winter's simply a very athletic child who tends to climb and jump around, but I'd feel a lot better if there was someone among the Displaced who would be interested in the position. They're all the same age, 6. They've only just turned 6 so they're in kindergarten.

What about a half-day Kindergarten program?

I'd be very interested in that. I'd much rather get them used to being around people, but there's not a school for the Displaced children. I understand, there's not enough of them to warrant a school, but it would be helpful.

We got an early childhood teacher who's certified until grade 2. She's currently just doing the nursery portion, but we can swing it so she could do a morning kindergarten class.

That would be amazing. They all have powers and with their age, they don't always understand that you can't just fly away from someone trying to climb up to hit you.

My 5 month old has similar problems when someone not me goes to change her. But she likes phasing on them. Those are things that can definitely be worked on though.

They'd been working with their Grandfather before he sacrificed himself, and were still working with his — I guess you'd call them servants after that time. I let things slack a little since their father died.

All you can do is continue on for awhile when that happens. The rest falls to the wayside.

It's not easy though. Not with five kids. And one who died saving There's a lot of tears to dry, and I'm not a particularly warm person on most days.

And then there's your own feelings that you have to try and handle.

It's fine.

How's Monday for you and the kids coming by to see the campus?

Winter and Helena would likely be two peas in a pod, from the sounds of it. Helena has gained a love of heights that I cannot grasp.

It seems as though you've found a possible solution though to your original inquiry. Did the school look into the other concern of that statement? The bullies?

Don't you dare tell Winter that. She'll insist on taking Helena flying with her.

I pushed the bullies more than I pushed the incredulous nature of the initial concern. That they were more concerned with an athletic child than bullies. They're "looking into it."

I won't say a word. I don't want to have a stroke while they take to the sky, after all.

As you should. The bullies seems far more like a concern than her remarkable talents, as you say. [...] Tone is always important with that type of statement. Is it correct to assume you doubt they are?

Winter's actually got a lot more powers than the others. She's the new North Wind.

It's Texas where they consider right to carry law, and if you don't own a gun, you're a liberal snowflake.

I'm not fully certain what that could mean.

Yeah, that's what I figured.

In our world, the North Wind is essentially the King of all the winds — that includes things like weather. The North Wind is the strongest and most important. Winter's grandfather, Bigby's father, was the North Wind. He recently passed after Winter had been chosen already to follow after him. Winds are inconstant and change from moment to moment, and so her personality will eventually follow more.

She's fine. She got over it fairly quickly, which is in her nature.

Both, actually. She thinks they're idiots who don't know a King when they see one.

Yes, she's got quite the little ego. The more she learned, the more she started to [...] be a little more inconstant.

Hopefully the EPS will be a better fit for her, then.

I just saw what you said to Albus. Was that the way for her Grandfather? Being inconstant?

I don't doubt that they will.

CHARLIE:
It's why he's dead. He eventually found out that Ghost was out there. My zephyr child, and while he was not going to kill him this time, he knew that he would change his mind at some point. So he opted to sacrifice himself to take an evil creature to its death.

His inconstant nature was one of the reason Bigby hated him so much.
