Today's my birthday.

We don't have to do anything for it, I just thought it was weird that I'm already 22! I've been kind of saying I was 22 already because it was May where I was and that's kind of close to October??

A new year is a new age!

We don't have to do anything. Maybe get a piece of pie at a diner or something. It's no big deal. I never celebrated my birthday much before. My dad was kind of against birthdays

Pretty good! I'm staying with Buffy, Caroline, and Willow. It's nice. And the Magic Box hired me, so that's fun.

We should totally do something to celebrate your birthday. Birthday's are important!

Ooo! What about a ritual to the Sumerian gods to assure safety for another year? That could be good right? Oh! Or what about making sure there's no knots around like the Greeks? But I guess that was probably more about giving birth than it was about celebrating birth, so, um, maybe dancing? The Egyptians liked dancing in relation to birth and celebration. Or we could butter your nose! Make sure no bad luck befalls you for the next year, but I'm not so into the ambush-y part of that tradition, so I guess if maybe you want to have your nose buttered we could totally do that. Though the Chinese think that eating long noodles on your birthday will help represent you longevity so maybe we can get the butter on your nose from the really long noodles? Though I don't now if I'd want nose noodles, that doesn't sound very good.

There's the German sweeping tradition but you're not turning thirty, or a guy... Ummmm!

What about coating you in flour? Or getting a pinata for you to hit? Though I don't know if you're so good with the swingy-hitting of pinata fun times. I know I used to miss them all the time when I used to try.

Though I also guess celebrating your birthday on a day that isn't your birth isn't that unusual either! In Vietnam everyone celebrates their birthday on the new year, so maybe we ought to do that that instead? Or you know, whatever day would be the new year for you?

I could get the componets we need for it tomorrow if you want and if you don't want to, that's cool, I mean, I'm such a spazz that it would probably just be awkward and uncomfortable and who wants to spend their birthday like that, right? I mean you totally deserve to have a spazz free day of birth!?

I might have read a book or two or three. [......] I really like birthdays.
