Noctwelve
Initially, my wife was trained from a baby to be an assassin with the sole objective to kill me, but once she got to know me better, she decided that was a load of rubbish. Now, you have to understand, the first time I met my wife was the last time she saw me - one of those things that happen when you're a time traveler, you sort of go with it - and our relationship was always one where we kept bumping into one another out of order. So, basically, we knew we would be married before it actually happened, I just didn't know how.
ANYWAY, long story short, we get to the point in our time lines where she is supposed to kill me, but she can't bring herself to do it. When she doesn't, then all of Time starts going haywire because it turns out that my death is a WHOPPER of a fixed point, and since it was disrupted, the fabric of the universe began to disintegrate.
Things happen, more things happen, and River, Amy, and Rory (beautiful people, River's parents, if they ever show up here, I'll have to introduce you) find ourselves on top of this pyramid. I try to convince River that I must die to prevent the unraveling of the universe, and she has to kill me, but she continues to refuse. Therefore, to pacify her and let her know it's going to be alright, I marry her in a quick ceremony.
Probably not very helpful in your circumstance, now that I think about it.
