FILTER TO JACK SPARROW

The bar in town is opening again tonight. I'm told I'll be allowed free drinks. Shall we go?

FILTER TO VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN
Doctor, would you like to accompany me to the the bakery sometime soon? I'd like to show my appreciation for what you've done for me these past few weeks and I am told that the lemon cake is 'sinful.' I've come to understand that this is a positive thing in the modern era.

Shall I be benefiting from these free drinks?

Only if you try to pass yourself off as a lady, I suspect.

Could do. No shame in that, love. Got a dress I can pinch?

Or we could give it a shave. How far you willing to go for free drinks?

As far as I must. Don't earn much in the way of coin these days.

I don't know if I'm willing for you to go that far. You'd be unrecognizable.

We should really figure out employment.

Bugger. I'd thought you on board for this.

How's about we steal from the pristine fingers of the rich and take allsies for ourselves?

If you actually want to, I'd be supportive. I'd get used to it in time.

Yes. Theft goes on the uprising in small American town where two pirates reside. That won't go unnoticed at all.

Can't be bothered. I'll find me own way to get free drinks.

Aye! So we have an accord!

You could chat up someone. That may work in your favor. They do some overly fond of you in this era.

I was being sarcastic, Jack.

Nothing exaggerated about it, love. They've good reason to love me.

Oh, no need to come to your senses. We're sailors through time, Elizabeth. What've we got to abide by proper rules and codes for?

I'm sure they do.

Can't escape to the open ocean as a quick get away, for one.

You do not need to thank me. I will accompany you if you wish, however. There are quite a lot of things that mean something different than usual here.

I am aware that I do not need to but I still intend to. I'll be going out this evening so perhaps we can plan for tomorrow afternoon?

That is certainly true.

If you wish it, I find it is often simpler not to argue too much. Miss Ives has a tendency for stubbornness. I should be able to make it for the afternoon.

I am still attempting to understand the way that people speak. Sick is apparently a positive as well, and not strictly meaning ill.

I've spoken with Miss Ives on an occasion or two. I like those who are equally stubborn. Though I'm glad you'll be able to. Shall we meet at my place and go from there?

I've heard of that one. Have you come across 'burn' yet? It is used for when someone is impressed by an insult and it is often in conjunction with 'sick.' I've gathered it means a highly impressive insult.

She has been through more than any of us. Yes. That should be fine.

I have heard something of it. I am not certain that they always understand impressive insults, but I suppose that is to be expected. Perhaps I just do not comprehend the insults. Language has changed much more than I expected.

Of your world, you mean?

There are useful tools on the internet that explain the shift in meaning and how it came to fruition. Have you used any of these sites?

I don't know if I have, no.
