I mostly just tried to keep the people in the caves safe. I had a gun and it seemed less likely to almost get me killed.

I don't know what you think starving yourself is going to do.

If you die, whatever it is you're missing now? That's not here and it isn't going to be there if you die either. You'll just be dead. I've seen people come back from the dead. People I knew. Only when they came back, they weren't themselves. They were killers, animals. When Lily died, I never expected to see her again, but against all odds, she found me and I had to watch her die in front of me. I had to go out and shoot my husband in the head so he wouldn't come back as one of them.

You might not care, but the others in this house do. At least Eliot, Margo, and Quentin do. So for them, I care, too. Because if they have to watch you die, I know what that looks like and I know what that feels like. And it doesn't do anyone any good. But maybe you don't care about that either.

The point is, you should eat. Get stronger, get your magic back, and maybe then you can use it to kick their asses if that will make you feel better. But dying solves nothing.

I don't know. I just know that I do. Someone has to keep them from running out of groceries and toiletries. They don't seem to do it on their own. But I don't mind that because they gave me a place to stay and they don't really make me pay to stay. Grocery shopping is practically like paying rent.
