Seems as if all the universes have one thing in common — the need to find a job.

Still considering looking at the government. Not 100% on the fence about that, though. Had my run with the feds, and that might be enough for me. Besides, it wouldn't be the same without Peter my friend there with me.

So my fall back is art. I have taught art before, and am willing to take commissions if anyone is interested in a portrait. I'm skilled in all mediums, even sculpture if that's something you want. Never know when a person will want a bust of themselves just in their hallway.

Let me know if you're interested. In the meantime I've painted these replicas if anyone wants to purchase them:

Those are really good. Think I like the second one the best.

Why do you paint pictures that other people have already painted?

So people who can't afford the originals can have a copy.

Yes, but a painted copy maintains the texture of the paint. It looks different.

Ok, I guess that makes sense. Texture seems important for some of the paintings.

Especially for Renoir and Monet (the first and second). Around then painters were starting to experiment a lot more with different brush strokes, it was a huge change from the more realistic styles that came before it.

Impressionism tends to be very atmospheric. It's about trying to catch a moment in time, like the difference between candid photos of people going about their day and posed studio shots. Before that no one really painted outside much so you didn't see those subtleties in the light. They've got that one up in the big art gallery in Chicago, if that's the same as back home. The effect is even better in person.

I did a big art tour for a while. Just flew to different cities to visit the galleries and try the food.

Paris and Rome. Paris has the Musée d'Orsay which is full of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist work. It's a lot smaller than the Louvre but I spent a lot more time there. And Rome just has culture and history everywhere you look. It's brilliant for sculpture and architecture. Plus, gelato.

Your knowledge of art is impressive. Last place I was at there weren't a lot of folks interested in the classics, and I land here and find you and Diana.

Art was the only I've loved art and dance since I was little. No language barrier.

I already took the high school teaching job. There's been about sixteen or eighteen people turning up to the monthly art days at the community centre though, so there might be some call for regular lessons over the summer or for non-students.

If you build it, they will come.

I'll go to the community center and see what I can set up. But it sounds a little too much like volunteering and if I'm going to survive here I'm going to need cash.

Though I have an idea for that already

Thank you, Diana. Is there anything in particular that you like — a specific artist or a painting that I can paint for you?

That is a difficult question to answer. I greatly enjoy studying the surge of art from the Renaissance period up to modern day. Though Greek art holds a special place in my heart, for obvious reasons.

And suddenly I feel like I'm in an interview...

To further my students, of course, and to cultivate a love of art and culture. I think it's important to get to know each student since each student is unique, and to help them find the best way to learn and not just force feed them whatever I think they need to know.

Scott Summers. I'm the Headmaster of the Ellie Phimister School. It very well could be.

We're a new charter school so still rounding out some of our departments.

I was in an Impressionist mood, Pansy. I'll paint you a Picasso, though. Or at least an original in his style.
