Isobel had no notable memory of when she had been this nervous before. Not even when she told the others - strangely enough, telling AJ hadn't been that stressful of an event because she'd felt awful for how things had transpired and just wanted to get it out in the open with him. When she'd told Connor, she had a small lingering bit of doubt, but for the most part she didn't expect him to respond negatively because they were twins and it was kind of his duty to accept her however she came. Well, some people might not feel that way with their siblings, but for the two of them it was just how it worked. She accepted how ridiculous Connor could be sometimes when it came to work and being a bit stuffy and Connor accepted Isobel's slightly eccentric nature and the fact that she picked on him constantly (though she did it try and get him to lighten up). Needless to say, telling her brother and a guy she wasn't interested in dating anymore was nothing compared to telling someone who had said she was 'hoping she had a shot'. It wouldn't have been made so difficult if it weren't for the fact that she was beautiful, funny, and a bloody Potter. Of all the people Isobel could've expected to think that she was attracted, Lily Potter had never crossed her mind once. Yet here she was, apparating to Lily's flat in Diagon which wasn't particularly far from her own and throwing herself to the mercy of someone she honestly didn't know what would happen with, but Connor had made a lot of valid points and she was unable to refute them. If Lily was willing to put herself out there and tell Isobel without any idea of whether or not she would even be receptive, Is had to give her the courtesy of returning the favour. Besides, if Lily was gay and not out to her parents, they definitely did have a lot in common and maybe she could help Is somehow. Connor kept saying he didn't know what she was going through and that was true, even if he was the person she was closest to. Isobel knocked on Lily's door, wringing her hands around her wand as she waited. She was trying to calm down and not totally lose her cool, even if she wasn't entirely sure she had ever had it. |
