The final whistle ended and Eddie didn't waste time to heckle the referee who handed the decision over the penalty to the Tornadoes after a particularly spirited attack from the Wasps Chasers. It was just utter bollocks. She gnashed her teeth for a moment, watching as the players filed out of the field, before turning to Joe. "Well, at least the right team won this time," Ed conceded, earning one death glare from a pre-pubescent boy who was pushing his friend out of their aisle seats. She gave them a pointed look and they shuffled away with no further comment. Satisfied at this turn of events, Eddie relaxed a little and grinned at her friend. "Food?" She tucked her hands into her pockets, feigning casualness. Eddie was hungry (as per usual) but she didn't want to impose. "I don't know about you but Quidditch games always make me hungry," she added, sounding far more hopeful than anyone else would in the same situation. In the distant corner of the Quidditch stadium, she saw a few players idling by the bleachers and she felt her stomach drop a little. Only a few weeks left before results come out. Just a few weeks. Ed stared at them for a little while longer, all the while thinking: what's a few more weeks after you've been waiting years. It's nothing. It's practically a second compared to those hours spent cutting Quidditch plays from Chasers Monthly. Mentally shaking herself, Eddie nodded over at the exits. "Stax has an awesome two for one deal on the weekends." |
