Characters: Victoria Frobisher & Eddie Carmichael
Setting: Just another Tuesday in the Department of Mysteries
Rating: General public
Summary: It's just a harmless office crush that totally involves dreams of math problems, but otherwise it's just full of twenty-something awkwardness.
It was silly really. It wasn't like the texts laying out in front of her where suddenly going to become animate and ask her why she was doing her best not to sulk at them. (Although stranger things had happened down here.) No, the books had done nothing but keep her busy the past couple of weeks. Still, she couldn't help the very real realization that now two of her mates from school were engaged and well she still spent most of her time in dark rooms doing things she wasn't allowed to talk about it. And if not then, it was off to some place in the English country side to do things she was too embarrassed to talk about.
Still it was Tuesday and that meant Hodgkin was due rounds to see where people where in their current projects. At least she could get the hang of Tuesdays, even if she was having trouble working out the theory behind the latest object that came across her team's plate. But she was distracted, in a way that her personal life (or perhaps lack there of) was kind of interfering with her work, which was perfectly unacceptable.
Victoria sighed, setting down her quill. She was getting nowhere. And as always in those moments when she was stuck or just needed a break her gaze carefully went over to Eddie's desk and one thing was abundantly clear in her head. She totally wanted to give him math problems. The sort of thing that he would find when he went to pour his orange juice or see in the mirror fog after he got out of the shower. He was the sort the sort of person that was bound to enjoy math problems. And really who wouldn't?
And oh goodness, she was totally staring and not just the passing interest starring like I'm totally a stalker who digs through your garbage starring, which for the record she didn't, even if she sometimes felt that way. There was no way he didn't catch her. Her mind was racing for some sort of reasonable excuse.
