Characters: Marcus Flint & Bryony Dunstan Setting: Let's pretend it's still Sunday, k? Rating: PG-13, I'm pretty sure. Summary: Marcus has big plans for himself and Bryony this Valentine's Day -- and for the rest of their lives. But what will be her answer?
There were a few things to know about Marcus. One was that he wasn't the naturally romantic type, the second was that he didn't really believe in the ideas of true love or anything similar, and the third was that he liked to be straightforward. His plans for today was nothing of that sort. Well, all right, they were straightforward. (Mostly.) So he had that at least. It was to be him, Bryony, a fairly nice restaurant for dinner, and for dessert, she was going to get the ring instead -- and he had been by Katie's flat bright and early to retrieve what was second only to his flat in terms of how many galleons it had cost him. And, if all went according to plan, at the end of the night it would be on Bry's finger.
It had better be on her finger.
Another thing to know about Marcus? He didn't do nervous well. He didn't do at all, really. Not for games, not in general. And yet as he sat across from his girlfriend, working through his main course, there was that foreign feeling of being unsure of what the next twenty minutes would hold for him, so he gave Bryony one of his rare and genuine smiles and attempted to stamp down the feeling as he said, "Enjoying dinner?"
He just had to keep telling himself that there was no possible way she could say no.
