Meanwhile, at the Parkview Apartments....
[After the supplies were gotten, it was time to get things organized in the apartment. Everyone had their own bedroom, Lelouch placed Suzaku in the one nearest the entrance to the apartment. It was time for this odd trio to get to know their new member a bit better.] Fletcher, put the boxed food away in the kitchen cabinets. I suppose I'll have to make do with nonperishables for now. [Heavy sigh. So inferior.]

[Follows after with another shopping bag, putting things away very meticulously.]

[While he works, he's considering how to pursue the Cornelia situation. He would have to make a move before any public warning about Zero or Suzaku is made. How could Suzaku have let her pull his mask off like that? Other people could have seen. But it wasn't the time for him to reveal his presence to her. That was a move he'd have to make very carefully.

As he considers this, it's obvious he's in intense thought.]

[This was rather inevitable.] It's because of Cornelia. She comes from a noble class of the empire. The empire has an official policy of separating everyone that's Britannian from all of the others. Anyone else is called a Number, after their country of origin's new designation number. Use of their previous ethnicity is punishable by law. I have every expectation that she will be continuing that practice. [There's disgust in his voice.] I'm sure people that are displaced by more than geography would fall into a similar category.

	No, because she is at least a fair bit more intelligent than that. I'm sure she's using more subtle means of putting that into practice as we speak. [Suzaku entered the kitchen right about the time that Lelouch was explaining to Fletcher about Britannia's foreign policy. He scowled, he was still shaken from his run in earlier with Cornelia and from telling Lelouch about it. He wasn't going to convince Lelouch he could trust him when he messed up everything.]

I think she will enjoy being an elite of one. No one I spoke to today had heard of Britannia at all. [By spoke to, he means listened to on the radio. He had only actually spoken to one person other than Lelouch, Cornelia and this kid. He looks at the kid awkwardly, they had met briefly after Suzaku had reported to Lelouch what had happened and then they had been gathering supplies. Suzaku dumped the box he was carrying on the table and started unpacking. He was still wearing his mask, out of habit more than anything.] Fletcher, right?

Fletcher, you are about to be privy to information that no one else is. It is of the utmost importance that you never, ever, tell anyone that you have any idea who the person behind this mask is. It could be either myself or Suzaku.

[If his predictions proved untrue, he always had another option.]

[He was so timid this child that Lelouch had picked up. Very young, what was this world thinking? If they needed people to save them then a child shouldn't be the first choice.]

And when we are outside, with other people you must call me Zero. [And with that he reached up and took off the mask for the third time that day. Seeing as usually he only ever took it off to sleep this was strange, until today no one had seen his face in six months not even Nunnally or Lloyd who both knew who he was but pretended not to.]

[Suzaku grimaced, he knew what Lelouch was like with clothes, he had a very flaboyant taste. Especially when he was trying to impress.] Alright [He moved over to the box] But if there's a hat in here I'm not wearing it. [He smiled and looked to Lelouch and then his smile dropped as he realised that Lelouch wouldn't understand.

He looked at Fletcher instead and gave a nod sadness in his eyes.] Yes... It is a punishment... and a promise to a friend. [He glanced at Lelouch again and then looked in the box for the clothes.]
