There was the moment of release and then the twang and the arrow was flying across the training area towards the target that had been set up as far away as she could put it. Unfortunately it wasn't as much of a challenge as she had been hoping for. For the first time since arriving, Cissie contemplated using the computer controls to somehow ramp up her training. You never just stood and shot. There were moving targets, pinpoint accuracy was needed.
Letting her bow-arm fall to her side, she tilted her head sideways, looking out the window on the far wall. Coming back had been the best idea she'd had in a long time. Yes, there was something weird up with Cassie, but she was certain that that could be figured out and fixed... whatever it was.
It was like coming home! And so far it had worked. Not that there had been much of a plan on her part, but for the first time since she'd gotten back into the costume she felt... Well she didn't feel alone. It wasn't a secret anymore. Or at least it wouldn't be once she finally told everyone, or once everyone found out, whether it was one at a time or what have you. Unless someone already knew - which was possible. After all they were finding a lot of red arrows in Penn these days...
Moving her free hand to the bowstring, she plucked it, checking its resistance. She'd have to check it in the shop. Her last night out she'd used the bow against an assailant, stunning him temporarily. She hoped she wouldn't have to take the mechanism apart...
