"I am that transparent, aren't I," said Talfryn with a sheepish smile, quite glad that Coan had the sense to eat now rather than continue to mope. He must have been starving. It wasn't polite to stare, though, so he kept most of his attentions elsewhere, primarily Noa, who gobbled up the mushrooms ravenously. Remembering that he'd brought a treat for her, he patted at his pockets until he found it, holding the crunch out. The hound nearly snatched it out of his hand. He wondered if she needed to go for a walk, as well.
"I figured," Talfryn shrugged in response to Coan. "I don't think anyone's been able to sleep well in the last day, honestly. You needed rest." He paused, then, uncertain of what to say and not wanting to upset Coan. The Warden said he was 'fine', but not at all in a believable manner. Had they not had a row before the scouting party at the Orchard, perhaps he would have been more at ease now. But he couldn't tell where they stood in their friendship, and that made it difficult not to inquire without feeling like he was imposing. Talfryn withheld a sigh, flicking something out of his drink nonchalantly, "I just...wanted to check on you. We haven't spoken much since you came back."
Another pause, while the man ate. Talfryn almost brought up the Orchard, but thought that too forward. He just needed to show his support. Finally, he looked back up at Coan with a solemn expression, "I am glad that you are here now, though. I don't envy what you had to do, but I am certain it was for the best. And I want you to know that I am here if you want to talk about anything. You don't have to if you don't feel like it, but I will always listen to whatever is on your mind."
