Constans stood at the invitation to walk, nodding his assent. He folded his hands up into his sleeves as he fell in beside Thais, clutching his opposite elbows; it could be awfully cold in the tower, and his fingers were already numb this morning, although not entirely from the temperature.
He murmured his reply, ensuring that his voice wouldn't carry far down the corridor. "I'm afraid there isn't much else to tell you, Thais." He dropped her title to give an impression of absentminded informality now that they at least seemed to be alone.
"I'm not even certain who it was that I overheard talking about it. I was pulling a late night in the laboratory, and I only caught an echo. It sounded like two older men, though," he lied smoothly, covering his bases to ensure there would be no reason to question his access to this information. "It didn't seem like a good idea to stick my head out the door to find out who it was."
Glancing to Thais, he flashed a childish grin. "Being an innocent bystander, of course, not some slinking eavesdropper."
