The return squeeze from Brennan had her relaxing as she stepped in closer, her chest pressed against his, the woolen fabric in between them. She cold feel the heat of his body through his shirt and wanted to feel the warmth of his skin against her's. But their intertwined fingers felt somehow more intimate and she brushed her thumb against the back of his hand.
Her eyes fluttered closed as his lips brushed her forehead and feathered over her cheek. She let out a tiny breath, feeling as cherished as any treasure when he kissed her with such reverence. Warmth flooded her, painting her cheeks with a blush.
Letting out a small gasp she tilted her head as his lips traveled to her ear, teeth and tongue sending a shudder of pleasure racing down her spine. Her fingers tightened around his, clenching slightly as she murmured his name softly. Somewhere deep inside her, she wanted to tell him now that she loved him, but she hadn't said it before, and she was afraid of startling him, afraid that any words spoken would make him stop what he was doing.
Instead she tugged one hand free from his grasp and grabbed for the hem of his shirt, slowly working it upwards. Her fingers and knuckles brushed against the bare skin beneath and she turned her head again to claim his mouth in another kiss, this one perhaps more aggressive than the last, as if she was trying to convey everything she felt in this simple meeting of lips and tongue.
