He did enjoy that look on her face, enough that he wanted to kiss her once more so he could see it again. He wavered, caught between his lust and his sentimentality. Catching his lower lip between his teeth, he made his most difficult decision of the day. It was not so much that lust lost to sentiment, but that it was deferred for a time. When he pulled out of her embrace, it was in regretful measures. He could not bring himself to pull his hands away, as they felt more comfortable around her waist than he could imagine them anywhere else.
He managed a strained smile, although his voice did not sound nearly as tormented as he felt. It would be hard to miss the nearly half-octave that it had dropped since he last spoke when he murmured an answer to her question, "Hmmmm..who says we aren't training?" If anyone asked, that was what they were doing. It was unlikely that they would accept the explanation at face value.
"We should get going," he said, somewhat as an order to himself and a comment to her. If it was an order, his body refused to obey as he stayed still.
The first girl he had been with had not affect him this way, but he did not have the same regard for her as he had for Imenry. Their relationship had been brief, intense, but ultimately meaningless. They had parted more out of boredom than anything else. He did not think he could get bored with Imenry, not when she amused and very occasionally frustrated him so.
