Andoralis would be upon them soon. It was a time for celebration in the village. But it was also a day away from the vigorous training at the Temple for people like her, and Imenry was slightly disappointed by that. Her father had told her she spent too much time honing her skills with a blade, and not enough time being a child. She liked to think she was no longer a child at sixteen. Her body was certainly that of a woman, something the boys of the village were starting to notice, and something which Imenry planned to take full advantage of.
Women were sometimes underestimated, even though it was not uncommon to have female guardians or warriors or hunters just as skill or more than their male counterparts. Still, few people expected what they got when they faced off with Imenry. She liked it that way.
It was a warmer day for the village, though there was still snow on the ground, as always. The sky was clear and the sun sharp overhead, so Imenry had worn less layers than usual. She wore her leathers, fur lined boots and a soft blue top made of goat's wool by her mother's own hands. Furs she wore over it where set aside once she reached the training grounds. On colder days she could fight in them easily. Her grey eyes slid over the scene stretched before her, the mages and warriors alike embroiled in a sparring battle. Her sword, a real claymore provided to her from the Temple was a heavy weight against her back and her hand closed easily around the hilt to draw it free.
Her motions paused when she spotted a familiar figure in the corner of her peripherals. Sometimes when she saw Brennan, she was certain with a very teenage viewpoint of the world, that she was in love with him. The way that her heart fluttered a little in her throat, or the way a wave of warmth filled her when he smiled. She liked to imagine he felt the same. He certainly seemed to like her enough to kiss her at least, though she was also eager for other experiences.
Leaving the sword sheathed she crossed towards him, her gait sure and even. Imenry wasn't particularly shy, but she also rarely showed her affection in public. She smiled slightly and tilted her head to look up at him. "I see you're practicing diligently as usual," she teased.
