Conlan looked at Lillie for a moment, then shook his head.
"I'm not jaded, just experienced." With that he dipped his spoon into the porridge and lifted it to his mouth. He sipped on it quietly for a moment, then swallowed before looking back at her.
"The thing with the dragon was umm… there was some scholar who said he found Andraste's ashes. The chantry sent out an expedition to explore the temple he found. Supposedly there was a dragon guarding it once?" Conlan shrugged. "It was an early job for me, I got hired to help escort the scholars and priests and what not. I never got to see the temple, and if there was a dragon or ashes I didn't hear about it." Conlan wondered if he would have been honored to see them. His father certainly would have, and at one time maybe Conlan would have. Now though, the only feeling he had in common with his younger self is they both would have felt just a little unworthy.
