Who: Conlan Delaine, Lillie Tharelle Where: G3 camp When: 9:45, Early morning 24 Molioris Summary: Conlan solidifies his business deal with Lillie, discusses their mutual feelings on killing people, and tries not to get turned into a toad. Rating: PF (potential frogs)
Conlan hadn't really gone to sleep the night before. He had for a little bit earlier in the evening, but he hadn't set up his tent, or unrolled his bed. He had sat by the fire staring at the night sky and thinking about the day. The day when Azabeth had shown up, the day where the group had nearly split into fighting. Some where along the thoughts of the day he had drifted off, he didn't know how long.
When he woke the fire had died down, but was still crackling. Con told those on watch to get some rest. He knew he wouldn't be sleeping any time soon, and the group should get some sleep when they could.
He'd spent the morning, looking out toward the horizon. The sun had yet to rise, but far off, the eastern sky began to lighten just slightly. If they had figured right, they might be about a days hike from the edge of the forest, and Conlan intended for them to be there in that span of time.
That's when he heard a rustling from one of the tents, and saw Lillie step out of it. Con was unsure of what to think of her. His experiences with mages in the past was shaky, in fact his only good mage experience had come from mages who had just recently become Grey Wardens. (He decided that thos mages were good) But the rest, well the chantry always did talk about how dangerous the rest were. Especially apostates. How their turning from the Maker was a sign that they planned to use their magic for selfish and ultimately evil reasons.
And while Con could understand a desire to rebel against the Maker, Lillie didn't seem the rebel type too much. She only used her magic to heal, which was a feat Conlan had someitmes wished he had. She had worked things out with the Templar it had seemed, and if she was a dangerous crazy apostate, shouldn't she be more... well dangerous and crazy?
On top of that, she was just so... nice. Admittedly she was a friend of Ordhans, so not a huge surprise, but in addition to the whole risking being carted off to the tower to heal someone, she'd helped with cooking, she'd seen to it that people had decent clothes, she'd made sure Jill was well taken care of even after she'd been healed.
Of course, beyond personal feelings, he had sort of suggested a kind of business arrangement before, which she had yet to talk to him about. He figured they should discuss it. But he felt either unwilling or unable to simply blurt it out. She would likely think she'd avoided having a templar master just to get a Grey Warden one. He frowned slightly for a second, and then thought about a different topic.
"So... I guess yesterday was your first real fight?"
