His first instincts were to ensure that Lalin remained safe and unharmed -- to be expected because of his romantic feelings towards her -- as he scanned the faces of the group members. When he caught sight of her in the middle of darkspawn bodies, she looked worse for wear, exhausted from the heat of battle (the apparent demeanor that everyone had), but she appeared to be alright and a sigh of relief escaped his lips as he turned his attention to the remaining companions. His eyes searched for the last Grey Warden, Falina, who also looked fatigued when he found her, but evidently capable of upholding her own during a battle as she seemed unharmed enough.
Now that he accounted for all the Grey Wardens, he took to the care of his companions, laying his eyes on each and every one to make sure that they all survived the battle and to measure assistance should any of them need immediate attention. Fortunately, they all seemed relatively unscathed save for a few bruises and scratches that didn't run deep (aside from Conlan), some of them hadn't even shown any signs of just fighting in a battle and looked the picture of health in all the meaning of the word. Their first battle with the darkspawn had been intense and menacing, but it did not last long and no one was seriously harmed, a good victory that would help with the morale of his companions should they encounter a battle that was actually trying.
He smiled in spite of himself, feeling the rush of victory over him, but immediately lost his good spirit when his eyes returned to Conlan, who had now slumped to the ground and was struggling to regain his stance with futile endeavors as Hissra and Lillie hovered over him to perform their healing spells at Faer's request. It was true that the Dalish Elf didn't have as much battle experience as Conlan may have had, but that didn't necessarily mean he wasn't strategic in the sense, taught mechanics during his time with the clan who relied on stealth and concealment in order to live their lives in the forest while remaining undetected to outsider eyes.
While they may not have really needed any strategic ideals considering the circumstance that they had won fairly easily, he had charged forward after giving complacent orders to the remaining groups without waiting for agreement or perhaps other ideas that sounded better. As a result, they had to spring into action based off their instincts instead of logical thought and although that might have been enough for this battle, it would likely be something that could get them all killed should it have been under different situations. Faer grew mindful of the man as he lay on the ground, silently seething through his prominent glares at the lack of intellect Conlan had displayed, wondering if he should speak to the man after they settled down to try and cause some sense into him.
