Brennan did not even get the chance to answer her first question besides a nod before she was closing the distance and grabbing his hands in her own. He started with surprise then blushed at her intent inspection of his hand. When she looked at his with such an expression, he felt he was somehow letting her down for not having whatever it was she was looking for in his hands. He almost apologized. It was an odd feeling, and one that he had not known before. No one had ever looked at him that way, like they expected and wanted something of him.
He very much wanted to show her want she wanted. Of course, he did not exactly glow with magic. Being the youngest mage student, his studies were more focused on boring theory and little tricks cause he tired easily. He was not allowed to call upon fire or anything flashy like that. Although he knew how to. Fire had been the first magic he ever did. Admittedly, he had seared off his eyebrows with his first bout of magic so he would have to be careful this time.
Pulling off his gloves, he waved Imenry away from him. "Stand back!" He ordered superciliously, "I'm going to do magic." He held one hand out, palm up making sure it was well away from his face. Despite all of his precautions, he did not stop to think about the fact they were in a small enclosed space. It was a good thing, then, that nothing happened despite Brennan's intense focus.
