While she'd been staring at the sky the boy had wandered up on her. Imenry blinked at him in surprise, then frowned at his question. Leveling her arm she tossed her snowball right into his smirking face.
"Still it!" She laughed and spun around, racing around the corner of the shack and back across the opening of the square, a grin tugged at the stubborn corners of her mouth.
Her hood slipped down and her hair flew free behind her as she ran towards the cluster of fur trees that sat along the path. Darting between them she ducked her head under a bough of needles and made her way towards her secret hiding place. The stone wall of the mountain was flat here, but riddled with small caves and crevices. Her small, gloved hands pressed against the flat stones and searched through touch.
There it was. Ducking down she crawled into the little stone cavern. It wasn't very high, as she had to crawl to get inside, but further in it widened a little, creating a small rounded cave. It was sometimes used to store meat, but now, with the hunters gone and reserves low it was empty. Imenry hugged her knees up against her chest and sat, wondering if her new playmate would be able to find her here.
